About Stephen

Born in 1958, Stephen Brow has been a resident of Kelowna for most of his life. Steve’s early days were filled within a sports minded family, participating, as well as volunteering his time coaching various sports such as gymnastics, swimming & soccer. Steve’s late dad, Jack Brow, was sports and recreation director for the City of Kelowna for many years, and Steve learnt the ethics of commitment and determination early in life.

Steve created his first piece of art at the age of 9 years. It was a carving from soapstone he titled ”inspiration”. His love of sculpting was followed in 1978 by deciding to pursue a career as a goldsmith. Steve attended Okanagan College within the Fine Arts Program, where he continued into an on-the-job apprenticeship program with a master goldsmith in Calgary. Further job opportunity brought Steve to Vancouver, where he obtained an apprenticeship within a major jewellery manufacturing company. It was in 1983 that Steve & his wife Sylvia established Steve’s Gold Creation Inc., and throughout the years have maintained a strong reputation in producing a high quality, one-of-a-kind creation. Steve’s combined talents of goldsmithing and sculpting has enabled him to create his own unique style those portraits itself within all of his work.

In memory of Steve’s dad, Steve annually presents the “Jack Brow Memorial Bursary”, to an individual student that displays the work ethic that Jack Brow was so well known for. Steve’s past involvement within the annual “Jack Brow Memorial Track Meet”, providing “Top Athlete” recognition pieces, as well as achievement medals, has produced some cherished good luck pieces, for many committed and determined athletes.

Some of Steve’s most cherished pieces have been auctioned off for charity, in conjunction with corporate sponsorship. Such fundraising efforts include “the Children’s Miracle Network Foundation”. To date, Steve has raised thousands of dollars for this foundation, and continues to strive annually to increase that amount. Steve’s ability to establish corporate partnership in conjunction with producing a thematic piece for charitable organizations, has proven to be very successful.
